2020 First Communion and Confirmation Happening as planned.

Do to the previous shut down the spring sacraments had to be rescheduled. First Communion is planned for August 1 and August 8, both at 11am. Confirmation is scheduled for August 14th, at 7pm.

In the last several weeks there has been a lot of uncertainty lately and several of you have reached out to ask about the status of the upcoming sacraments.  We are proceeding as planned.  Our parish has done a wonderful job following the original guidelines set out when public masses resumed in May.  The recent limit of the size of gatherings from the Governor is regarding social gatherings, not religious.  Also, Archbishop Kurtz has stated that Churches can continue to hold services as long as we follow the safety guidelines (you can read his statement here).
If everyone follows the guidelines we have sent out (mask wearing, social distancing, and limiting the number of guests) then we will continue to meet the requirements established to allow us to safely worship.  We continue to strive to keep capacity at 30% (which for St. Aloysius is 330 people).   Keep in mind we will be live streaming each sacrament on our parish Facebook page.  So family members that are not able to come in person can watch at home.  Just have your friends and family follow our page, https://www.facebook.com/staloysius/ .
If you have any further questions please reach out.  We hope this answers some of your questions and gives you peace of mind.  If anything changes we will be sure to let everyone know ASAP. If you have further questions contact the parish office.

Happy 50th Anniversary Father Jack!

On May 16th we celebrated the 50th anniversary of Father Jack’s ordination. Thank you for the many cards and letters that parishioners sent in to the parish office. Father Jack received your wonderful sentiments, and was in awe of the overwhelming response.  You have each touched his heart in such a special way.  He asked us to share the following letter with the parish. Please take a moment today and say a prayer of thanksgiving for Father Jack!

Your Health is Our Top Priority!

With the beautiful sunshine and warm days, we understand how important it is to get outside and move around. Exercise is so important for both mental and physical reasons. However, we were just notified by both Oldham County police and Pewee Valley police that there have been several complaints of activities on our campus, and the social distancing guidelines are not being followed. Both Oldham and Pewee Valley police have responded several times to these complaints.

With the health of our community being our top priority, we have no other alternative but to close the campus. If the police see you on campus, they will ask you to leave. We deeply regret having to do this. Please continue to practice social distancing as we all work to stay healthy during this difficult time. We continue to hold the St Aloysius community and their families in our prayers.

A Letter From Father John : Yes we will have Mass This Weekend

We wanted to inform you that Masses are as scheduled this weekend.  People who are at higher risk are encouraged to avoid crowds as much as possible. Archbishop Kurtz emphasized that the obligation to attend Mass does not apply for serious reasons, such as illness and other vulnerabilities due to age, underlying health conditions, or anxiety.Anyone with symptoms of communicable disease should stay home from Mass as an act of Christian charity toward fellow parishioners.

Remember that Mass of the Air is also another option.  It is broadcast: -11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on the Faith Channel (Spectrum channel 19) and streamed on the Faith Channel at www.faithtvlive.com. -10:30 a.m. on WHAS-TV (channel 11) and whas11.com under the “Live Video” tab. -9 a.m. on WBKI-TV (Spectrum Channel 7). -10 a.m. on WNKY-TV (channel 40), Bowling Green, Ky.
Our parish is taking extra cleaning precautions to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.  Our cleaning company will perform a complete cleaning of the Church this evening.  This will include wiping down pews, railings, and door handles with hospital grade disinfectant.  The Chapel will also have this same cleaning done on Monday and Thursday.  The school will have the same deep cleaning as well as extra measures by our staff.  Multiple rounds of cleaning are scheduled for the next three weeks.  We would also like to encourage volunteers from the parish to help with cleaning if they feel comfortable.  We are inviting small groups (no more than 10 people, include 2 adults if it is children under 18) to come and do some extra cleaning.  This is a perfect way for young people to get service hours as well.  Contact the parish office for more information.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate this together.  As always please feel free to contact the Parish Office with any questions or concerns you may have.  We are planning on the Parish Office maintaining regular hours. (M-Th 8-4pm and Fri 8-3pm).

Masses Are As Planned for 3/14-3/15

In consideration of Governor Beshear’s recommendations and with the current directive from Archbishop Kurtz, We WILL HAVE regularly scheduled Masses this weekend. We implore those who are ill and those with compromised health issues to stay home and pray with the church through Mass Of The Air. It is broadcast:

  • 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on the Faith Channel (Spectrum channel 19) and streamed on the Faith Channel at www.faithtvlive.com.
  • 10:30 a.m. on WHAS-TV (channel 11) and whas11.com under the “Live Video” tab.
  •  9 a.m. on WBKI-TV (Spectrum Channel 7).
