The featured presenters are Teri and John Bosio. The Bosios have been married

44 years and have two daughters, a son-in-law, and a grandson. They have led religious education

and marriage enrichment programs at the parish and diocesan level for most of their married life.

They are authors of Joined By Grace, a new marriage preparation curriculum by Ave Maria Press.

The most valuable asset a couple has is their marriage. This morning of reflection will guide couples

in celebrating their love for each other and reflecting on the gift and blessing that is their marriage.

During the morning, couples will have the opportunity to polish four important “jewels” in their treasure:

  • The Memories of Your Life Together
  • Your Commitment to Each Other
  • The Gift That You Are to the Other
  • The Gift of Our Catholic Faith

This retreat is expected to sell out quickly.

This is a fundraiser for the entire parish, not just the School.  The funds raised are divided equally between the parish, the School, Men’s Club, and Women’s Club.  Last year the portion given to the parish was used toward reducing the debt.  And the Men’s Club also used their portion to support debt reduction for the parish.   We want to encourage the entire parish to attend.  This is an event where everyone can come together as one community and have a great time.  A night out to suppport our parish community.

If you have any questions or would like to volunteer please contact Julie Reddington, juliejreddington@att.net

Unleashed Results

Recently, our parish conducted a feasibility study, Unleashed, to determine the awareness of the parish regarding our $2M debt and the willingness to conduct a capital campaign to quickly pay it off. Results were stunning!
*  The participation rate was one of the highest among parishes conducting similar studies.

*  The parishioners were overwhelmingly clear about their wishes—the debt must go.

Therefore, we’re launching a 3 year capital campaign to unleash this debt.

The study itself made clear many other important facts. While none of these are surprising, they underscore what makes St. Aloysius Catholic Church a uniquely wonderful parish.

*  Parishioners love St. Aloysius Parish.

*  Parishioners are proud of our excellent school

*  Parishioners believe we are a blessed parish with many resources

*  Parishioners believe our future will be as strong, if not stronger, than our past

*  Parishioners believe we have the resolve and resources to meet any challenge

The Together We Can Campaign Kick-Off Weekend is October 28/29. More information to follow in the upcoming weeks.

CLOW and Childcare During the 11am Mass

Both Children’s Liturgy of the Word and childcare begin Sept. 10 during our 11:00 Mass.  Childcare is offered for steady crawlers through pre-school aged children, in our school building after school care room.  If you are interested please contact Julie Corbell at jacorbell@yahoo.com.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word is for children pre-school through second grade during the 11:00 Mass.  Children are dismissed during Mass to hear the Scripture messages at their level and returned to parents at the offertory.  If you would like your children to participate, please contact Sarah Terrell at sarahgterrell@gmail.com.

New Ministry!!!

Inspired by the work that we did in St. Louis on our Mission Trip, Youth Ministry will be starting a new ministry that will focus on the Corporal Works of Mercy.  But this ministry isn’t just geared toward students, we would like the ENTIRE parish to participate.  Our vision is a multigenerational group of people working to help others in our community.  We specifically encourage families to participate together, as a family, since so many activities seem to be pulling families in different directions.

Initially the justice ministry will be focusing on homelessness in our city, and as this ministry grows we will be able to talk about other Works of Mercy.   We will meet once a month.  At the first meeting we will construct blessing bags for homeless in our city and the next month we will distribute the blessing bags in some way.  Everyone who participates will get to experience both direct and indirect service.  And then the process starts all over.

Before our first meeting, we need supplies.  You can find a complete list of supplies needed by visiting:

http://bit.ly/blessbagsupply

Boxes will be available in the back of church to collect supplies starting August 20th.  Gift cards to purchase supplies will also be accepted.

If you have any questions  contact Mandy Kumler at the parish office.

And save the date.  Our first meeting will be September 20th, from 6-8:30pm in the Dickman Center
